The man who died in Thursday night's shocking workplace accident at the Green Isle factory in Naas has been named as John O'Sullivan, an engineer from Kilkenny.
The 42-year-old leaves behind his son and daughter, while he is also survived by his wife Maureen. Mr O'Sullivan, who lived in Westfield Drive in Kilkenny City, was an engineer in the factory for over a year before his death.
The accident occurred on Thursday evening at around 6.30pm when a machine crushed the worker to death. There are separate investigations into the the incident being carried out by the HSE and the Gardaí.
One of the workers at the factory told KildareNow that John was 'a very nice man' and tributes have been pouring in for him from local councellors and fellow staff members since his death on Thursday evening.
