The Judge directed a man who sold a faulty car to return a LandRover and €500 at Naas District Court today.
The court heard evidence of a young woman, suing the person who sold the car, under the Small Claims Act.
In court she outlined how she purchased a Kia, in exchange for €500 and a LandRover, earlier this year.
She told the court that shortly after purchasing the car, it began to leak water. The car had been advertised for sale on the company website and on Done Deal.
She said: "The vehicle broke down. I contacted the man, he told us to put water in it. The whole engine was steaming. We told the man that we were not happy with the car and that we wanted the €500 and LandRover back."
In court the woman said that she when the man who sold her the car met her near Straffan, following complaints that the car was not working, she was 'intimidated.'
The accused, who appeared in court, outlined that he did not sell the car to the woman, but was out of the country at the time.
He acknowledged that another person in the business had sold the car. The court heard that the LandRover needed a new clutch, at the time of sale.
Judge Desmond Zaidan ordered that the LandRover and €500 is returned to the woman and that if it is not returned in the correct condition, there is liberty to re-enter.
