Food packaging manufacturer Boran-Mopack, which is part of Boran group of companies in Naas, has created 10 new jobs in Co Tyrone.

The firm is aiming to double exports over the next two years following the investment in machinery and equipment at its premises in Strabane, bolstered by Invest Northern Ireland funding.

It is hoping to branch out into packaging for frozen food, snacks and baked goods.

Boran-Mopack was formed in 2003 in Strabane and is part of the Boran group of companies in Naas which includes Boran Plastic Packaging Ltd.

The group is owned by the Boran family.

Boran-Mopack, which makes packaging for clients including crisp giant Tayto, currently employs 65 people in Strabane.

Managing director Mairtin Boran added: "With opportunities identified in frozen foods, snacks and baked products, we are working hard to maximise our sales potential and achieve our export ambitions."

The firm uses processes including extrusion and flexographic printing.
