There is the potential for the creation of hundreds of new jobs as taxi operator Hailo seeks drivers to help deal with the large demands of a growing customer base this winter.
Hailo Ireland anticipates record demand for taxis this winter and has launched a campaign to recruit new taxi drivers to the revolutionary app.
Hailo is predicting the busiest winter ever in the history of taxis after record numbers this year. Hailo is reporting that even apart from the Dublin Bus dispute, September 2016 has been busier than the run up to Christmas and New Year's Eve 2015. This is being driven in particular by phenomenal growth in corporate, airport and hospitality businesses with thousands of hotel guests now being carried by Hailo drivers each week.
“The Hailo passenger base is growing faster than ever and we believe this winter and Christmas are going to be the busiest in history,” said Hailo General Manager Tim Arnold. For a limited time, Hailo are offering new drivers a €200 sign-up bonus to join the Hailo network. “More and more drivers are breaking free of the traditional taxi model of an upfront subscription in favour of Hailo’s flexible pay-as-you-go model - and they are taking home more earnings than ever before," Mr Arnold announced.
Ahead of this busy winter period, Hailo are seeking more drivers to join the network nationwide. Hailo always sends the closest driver to a customer so more drivers means shorter distances and fewer dead miles for drivers and shorter wait times for customers.
“Hailo customers are generating 50% more journeys per Hailo driver than this time last year and it’s the perfect time to join the Hailo fleet ahead of the winter rush," Hailo's GM said. "We’re confident that all drivers will be better off as the Hailo network grows.”
Demand for taxis has grown rapidly since Hailo entered the market in 2012.
“Hailo is part of a race to the top in Ireland’s taxi industry and wants to continue to lead and innovate in Ireland through the licensed, professional taxi industry. Our service is expanding, our technology is improving, and our customer numbers are growing every day. We have exceeded 16 million journeys in Ireland and we plan to build on this with even more drivers,” Mr Arnold said.
