Naas Traffic Corps this evening stopped a van driver on the N7 who was on his mobile phone.
However when officers spoke to the motorist they discovered a four year old child sitting on two spare wheels in the back of the commercial vehicle.
The child wasn't restrained in a safety seat as required under the law.
The driver was immediately issued with Fixed Charge Penalty Notice (FCPN) fines for the offences.
