Tourism in Ireland enjoyed a buoyant summer season with a significant proportion of hoteliers and guesthouse operators reporting that their business was up on 2015, according to a new survey from Fáilte Ireland.
Back in July, the CSO said overseas travel to Ireland during the first half of the year was 13.1% higher than the same period last year.
And now Ireland may be seeing the benefits of those figures.
The 'Autumn Barometer' survey also found that compelling brands, continued competitiveness and good air access were key to sustained growth.
Over 600 tourism businesses were involved in the survey.
Fáilte Ireland CEO Shaun Quinn said it was another successful summer with many businesses recording their best season ever.
