Confey have been given the daunting task of taking on reigning champions Sarsfields in the Kildare SFC semi-final after they were paired with each other in the draw for the final four of the championship. The north Kildare side are not regular features at this stage of the competition, but they will take heart from their victory over Naas in the quarter-final, while Sarsfields came through a fiery encounter against Athy with eight points to spare in their quarter-final.
Moorefield and Celbridge are the other pairing at the semi-final stage in what will surely be an evenly contested match.
In the Intermediate Championship there are two intriguing encounters to look forward to as Raheens take on Glenn Ryan's Round Towers in what will surely be a fascinating contest, while St Kevin's will face Two Mile House as they look to make a quick return to the senior ranks following their relegation last year.
