A Naas judge warned a drug offender that he would pay a heavy price if he appeared before him again.
Naas District Court heard that a 23-year-old apprentice carpenter had €25 worth of cocaine when gardai searched his house.
The defendant had no previous convictions.
The court heard the drugs were for his own personal used and he wasn't involved in dealing.
Judge Desmond Zaidan told the defendant: "Illicit drugs will destroy you. Every cent you spend on cocaine is going to criminal gangs. Would you like to be an addict?"
The judge decided to apply the Probation Act which means no conviction will be recorded against the defendant.
And he added: "If you come before me again, you won't like me."
