It's set to be a mixed bag weather-wise this weekend as showers of heavy rain will be thrown in along with some periods of sunshine during the afternoons on both Saturday and Sunday.
This evening should remain relatively dry however, with temperatures due to remain relatively mild. Many places will be dry tonight with clear periods and just a few showers in northern parts. Patchy fog developing and overnight lows of 10-13 degrees. Cloud thickening later in the night with rain moving into southwestern and southern areas.
It will turn wet tomorrow morning, especially across Munster and Leinster with heavy falls of rain. Drier and brighter periods will develop everywhere for a time in the afternoon, but a band of heavy and possibly thundery showers will move into western areas and spread eastwards later in the afternoon or evening. Afternoon temperatures will reach highs of 15-19 degrees. Winds will be mostly moderate but strong southwesterlies will develop in southern and eastern coastal fringes.
Some heavy, prolonged and possibly thundery rain or showers will develop for a time on Saturday evening and later that night, but it will dry out overnight. Lowest temperatures 10-12 degrees, in moderate to fresh and gusty west to northwest winds.
Most places dry for daylight hours during Sunday, apart from a few scattered showers over Ulster in the morning. A bright day, with sunny spells at times. Top temperatures 17-19 degrees in moderate variable breezes. A spell of rain will develop along the Atlantic Seaboard in the evening. It will become widespread overnight and be heavy in places, with some hill and coastal fog. Humid and breezy, lowest temperatures 12 to 15 C., in freshening southerly winds.
