Community mourning the loss of schoolboy in today's road accident

A community are united in mourning today following the death of a schoolboy this morning.

An 11-year-old cyclist, Tim Ross, has died following a collision.

 The incident took place at 9.15am on the Old Dublin to Galway Road at Marshbrook, Co Offaly.

It is understood the boy was cycling from his home in Moate to his school across the border into Offaly when the accident happened.

The road is wide in the area and details have yet to emerge about how the car and bicycle collided.
