A former Operation Transformation leader is now unemployed following a Co Kildare fitness centre going into liquidation.
Former manager of Sasta Fitness, Naas, Adrian Breherton, inspired the nation when he took part in RTE's Operation Transformation. At the start he weighed almost 20 stone, during the course of the show, he lost almost three stone.
After the show, he changed his job in the pet shop industry and became employed at Sasta in Naas. He assisted hundreds of men and women to reach their fitness goals using a unique formula of pod exercise, a special eating plan, one to one coaching and personal training, body sculpting and tonnes of motivation.
Speaking to KildareNow, Mr Breheron expressed his devastation at arriving to work, at Sasta, only to find that all the doors had been locked. He, along with the five other staff members had not been given any notice. According to Mr Breherton, the liquidator has informed him that he will be receiving voluntary redundancy and monies lost for not getting two weeks notice.
The father of four is the sole breadwinner in the family, as his wife is not employed.
He said: "I will take whatever job I get. It is shocking for everyone involved. It is very sad to see the place empty now. It is a pity."
