Clane cyclists to raise cash for local cancer charity

Members of Clane Wheelers cycling club are fundraising for local charity Little Way Cancer Support Centre when they compete in a national competition.

The Race around Ireland, which starts at Trim Castle on August 28, is known as one the toughest cycling challenges in the World.

It will take the racers on a gruelling 2,150km journey past locations like Newgrange, The Causeway Coast, Malin Head, The Cliffs of Moher, The Ring of Kerry, Mizen Head, the Garden County (Wicklow) and back to Moynalty in Co Meath - all within a week.

Nine cyclists from Clane will be raising cash for the Little Way Cancer Support Centre .

The Little Way Cancer Support Centre was set up in October 2003 to provide support for cancer patients, their families and friends.

The centre operates on a drop in basis for information, a cuppa and a sympathetic ear.

Professional counselling and Complementary therapies are available on an appointment basis with fully qualified and accredited therapists. A

ll services are provided free of charge to people with cancer and their loved ones. The centre operates strict rules of confidentiality

The drop in centre is open Monday to Friday 10.30 to 13.30. Therapeutic appointments are offered at varying times throughout the day and evening from Monday to Friday.
