Whitewater Shopping Centre will host their inaugral Whitewater Farmers’ Market this Friday August 19 from 11am. Located on The Avenue, beside the living-wall garden and opening every Friday from 11am-3pm, weather permitting, the Whitewater Farmers Market will feature locally grown gourmet foods and artisan products. Live music will also be a regular feature at the Whitewater Farmer’s Market, adding to the lively atmosphere.
The market will offer Newbridge foodies, unique gastronomic and shopping experiences with the finest locally produced foods and epicurean delights to be explored. Stall holders will include local artisan brands and award-winning producers; Flavour Safari, Gibneys Garden Preserves, The Food Junkie, The Birds and the Teas, Jarilicious Desserts in Jars, Caroline Liston Bakes & Cakes, Eat Like Apes, Anna’s Dairy and Mueller & O’Connell Bakery, to name but a few.
With regular Farmers’ Markets popping up around the country on a weekly basis, the demand for organic and artisan foods, continues to gather momentum as part of the “localisation” food movement. Meeting this need, Whitewater Shopping Centre will offer customers a more diverse shopping experience whilst supporting local Kildare farmers and artisan producers.
Commenting on the Whitewater Farmer’s Market, Centre Manager Ingrid Ryan noted:- “At Whitewater we always look to enhance our customers offering. We also believe in supporting the local Kildare farmers and artisan producers. We looking forward to The Whitewater Farmers Market becoming a fun, sociable, community-oriented weekly event".
