Kildare Commuters who use Dublin Bus services to travel to and from the capital could be facing a chaotic schedule in the near future after an overwhelming amount of drivers have backed industrial action.
According to SIPTU, 95% of drivers have backed the action to strike, while the union will now follow up with ballots of workers in the seven grades of employees next Tuesday.
There is now a prospect of 24 hour and 48 hour stoppages being put in place due to the pay dispute between staff and the bus company. Dublin Bus drivers are typically paid around €39,000 a year, and around 2,500 drivers operate across 980 routes.
Any strike action is likely to disrupt commuters using the service that operates from towns such as Ballymore Eustace, Blessington, Maynooth, Leixlip and Celbridge.
