Management at Green Isle Foods are expressing their deep sadness to the family of a man who lost his life at their Naas factory last night.
A statement said: "The accident which occurred last night has resulted in the tragic loss of one of our colleagues.
Management and staff at Green Isle Foods wish to express their deepest sympathies to the family and offer their full support at this very difficult time."
The engineer, in his forties, described as a 'true gentleman' became trapped in a machine. Fire services removed him, and he was pronounced dead at Naas General Hospital. The accident happened at about 9p.m.
Green Isle Foods is co-operating fully with the relevant authorities as they conduct their investigations into this tragic incident.
