Naas Gardai have issued a warning to households and businesses to ensure valuable property in garages and sheds is locked up.
Buildings outside the main home are often soft targets for thieves looking for DIY or gardening equipment like electric saws and drills or lawnmowers.
Officers made their appeal after gardening and construction equipment was taken from sheds in the Ladytown area between Naas and Newbridge late last week.
The items taken between Friday night and Saturday morning recent spate of robberies included chainsaws, ride-on lawnmowers, a drill, a con saw and a leaf blower.
Gardai also advised people to photograph their property and clearly mark it so that it will be less attractive to prospective buyers and it can be easily identified if it's recovered.
