Parents prepare for final farewell to son who died in Co Kildare road

The parents of an only child who lost his life in a Co Kildare road will bid their final farewell this Monday in Kilcock.

Michael Naughton, Balraheen, Maynooth, is the third person to die on Co Kildare roads this month.

The son of Walter and Margaret, died in a two-vehicle crash on the R407 Clane to Kilcock road near Baltracey, Donadea,

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Naas Hospital.

The driver of the truck was taken to Blanchardstown Hospital with what are described as minor injuries.

The late Michael is reposing at his home on Saturday & Sunday from 4pm to 8pm with rosary on Sunday evening at 7pm. Removal on Monday at 10.30am to arrive at St. Coca’s Church, Kilcock for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Kilcock.

Father-of-two Shane Fleming, from Celbridge, Co Kildare, died after the incident on the R152 Dunboyne to Maynooth Road at Castlefarm, near Dunboyne, just hours before Mr Naughton was killed. The driver and four passengers in the second car were moved to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
