A judge warned a worker in the Department of Education that she could lose everything with heroin use.
The defendant appeared at Naas District Court on Thursday after being found in possession of €50 worth of heroin.
She pleaded guilty to the offence. The court heard that she had no previous convictions.
Defence solicitor Tony Hanahoe outlined that the accused is currently on leave from work due to depression.
Mr Hanahoe said that she hopes to return to work by next month.
The court heard how the accused had been smoking heroin.
Judge Desmond Zaidan said: "You could lose everything with heroin."
The case was adjourned the defendant was ordered to reappear at Naas District Court on November 10.
