For those of you who may have been planning for some outdoor activities for Fathers Day today, it may be best to revise those plans as it looks set to be a damp squib of an afternoon.
It will be mostly overcast, with persistent and locally heavy rain spreading from the west and southwest this morning and early this afternoon and continuing through the rest of the day. It will also become quite breezy, with freshening southerly winds. It will be quite mild and humid with maximum temperatures 15-18 degrees. Rain will turn lighter and more patchy this evening, with less humid conditions spreading from the Atlantic and winds will veer southwesterly, easing a little.
Tonight will be mostly dry, but a few scattered showers will occur, mainly in northwestern coastal areas. Minimum temperatures 10-13 degrees, in a light to moderate southwesterly breeze.
