People who use postage services are being warned that the price of stamps is being increased next month on both domestic and international letters.
The standard rate for a domestic stamp in Ireland for a letter weighing up to 100 grams is currently 70c, but that will now increase to 72c. The cost of an international stamp for a package weighing up to 100g is currently €1.05, but that will be bumped up to €1.10 with the changes.
The new pricing comes into effect from July 21, and it marks the second time in just over a year that An Post have increased the price of stamps.
An Post maintain that the cost of posting a letter in Ireland remains among the lowest in the EU, despite the new increase. The average postal rate in the EU is 93c.
