The final cost of the redeveloped Curragh racecourse is expected to come to just over €80 million, the Irish Times reports.
The new-look home of flat racing will be open to the public on Bank Holiday Monday with an 8-race card.
The project had an original budget of €65m in 2015 but this rose to €72 million two years later.
Curragh Ltd, which is made up of private investors, Horse Racing Ireland, and the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB), has declined to comment on any extra costs.
An expanded parade ring was required after IHRB officials declared the original one to be too small to cope with large fields of runners.
The budget overrun is not said to involve extra funding by the State.

A Curragh spokesperson said: "Bank Holiday Monday will be a hugely significant day for Irish racing when the Curragh stages their first race day of 2019 following the completion of their redevelopment project.
"The spectacular redevelopment ensures that one of the world’s most iconic racecourses now offers magnificent facilities on a par with the best anywhere in the world."
