Gardaí at Tallaght Garda Station are investigating a hijacking incident that occurred on Saturday, April 6th at approximately 12.50am in the Avonbeg area.
A taxi man was on Avonbeg road when he was approached by a man and woman, the man opened the driver’s door and threatened the driver, he struck the driver in the chest with an unknown object and removed a sum of cash from the driver’s hand.
The victim was then dragged from the car, the man jumped into the driver’s seat and the woman got into the rear passenger seats.
They travelled in the direction of Avonmore Road.
The car was later discovered burnt out on Brookview Terrace a short time later.
The male suspect was covered up but was described as being between 35-40 years old, tall, thin and unshaven wearing a grey jacket.
The woman was not covered up and a detailed EVOFIT was compiled (pictured), she is described as being of similar age, dark shoulder length hair with a gaunt appearance.
