The Curragh is delighted to announce that prize money has been increased across a variety of races this season.
All Group 1 races will now be worth a minimum of €300,000 and there have been positive increases to enhance a variety of handicaps and programme for both stayers and sprinters, while all races on Group 1 days will have a minimum value of €20,000.
Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Day will receive a major boost with additional prize money over a variety of stakes and handicap races to increase total prize money to €2.1 million euro, while five major races on Day 2 of Longines Irish Champions Weekend have significantly increased in value.
Summary of key prize money increases this season:
Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes (Group 1) will increase from €350,000 to €400,000
Moyglare Stud Stakes (Group 1) will increase from €350,000 to €400,000
Derrinstown Stud Flying Five (Group 1) will increase from €350,000 to €400,000
Tattersalls Gold Cup (Group 1) will increase from €300,000 to €400,000
Keeneland Phoenix Stakes (Group 1) will increase from €250,000 to €300,000
Juddmonte Pretty Polly Stakes (Group 1) will increase from €250,000 to €300,000
GAIN Railway Stakes (Group 2) will increase from €115,000 to €130,000
Moyglare “Jewels” Blandford Stakes (Group 2) will increase €200,000 to €250,000
The Tote Rockingham and Tote Scurry will increase from €100,000 to €125,000 and in addition the Tote will also support the 100,000 Tote Irish Cambridgeshire and Tote Irish Cesarewitch
The new Comer Group Stayers Series will see increases over three races with the Comer Group International Irish St Leger (Group1) rising from €500,000 to €600,000, Comer Group International Curragh Cup (Group 2) from €120,000 to €150,000 and the Comer Group International Irish St Leger Trial (Group 1) increasing from €60,000 to €100,000.
