Naas District Court hears man gets 2 years ban for driving without insurance

A man has been banned from driving for two years after being stopped at a checkpoint and found to have no insurance, NCT and tax.

Sgt Brian Jacob outlined to Naas District Court how on August 18, 2018, at Tulllylease, Kildare, at 2.50pm, the accused was stopped at a checkpoint and failed to produce a driving licence.

The court heard how he had two previous for no insurance.

Defence Solicitor,  Timmy Kennelly said that the accused was 'homeless at the time and is now living in a hostel.'

Judge Flan Brennan ordered that the accused was banned from driving for two years and fined €200, with six months to pay.

Other charges were struck out.
