The housing market is continuing to go from strength to strength in Kildare according to industry experts, and homes are being snapped up in lightning quick time for eye-watering fees.
An article in the Irish Times earlier this week examined the Kildare property market and how it has recovered from the economic downturn that began in late 2007, and there are indicators that demand for homes will only increase further in the coming years.
57 houses in an estate in Celbridge sold inside the space of 12 months last year, with each four-bedroom home being sold for an average of €420,000. North Kildare does seem to be where the biggest demand for housing is, as people working in Dublin continue to move out towards Kildare in search of cheaper accommodation, and areas such as Leixlip, Celbridge and Maynooth are the most popular.
“House prices in North Kildare are probably at a point where they are economically attractive for builders once more.

“As a result, we’ve seen reasonable movement on the new homes side over the past two years,” says Philip Byrne of property agent REA Coonan.

Earlier this week, KildareNow examined the rising costs of renting in the county, with places such as Naas and Newbridge seeing huge rises in the average price to rent in those particular towns.
