Councillor Sorcha O’Neill has asked that Kildare Co Council suspend all road or footpath works and road closures that will affect the Main Street in Naas during the Punchestown Festival.
Cllr O'Neill also said there should be no works affecting traffic going to or from Punchestown during the festival
week period.
The Festival runs from Tuesday, April 30 to Saturday, May 4 when over 120,000 people will visit the famous annual event.
Cllr O'Neill will raise the issue at the April 16 meeting of the local Municipal District.
The politician will also ask if the council can confirm if the Naas Shopping Centre building site has not gone up for
sale as promised for the second time.
She also queried if the site qualifies for either the derelict or vacant site registration, and if so, when can those penalties apply?
On a separate issue, the public representative will ask if the Council cam explore potential uses for Jigginstown Castle for a similar historical visitor centre like EPIC - the Irish Emigration Museum - in Dublin.
