A Co Kildare TD is appealing for a spate of fires to stop before someone is injured.
Over the past few days, Co Kildare Fire Services has been called to incidents in Sallins wastelands.
Fianna Fail Deputy James Lawless said: "It is dangerous, I am concerned."
Meanwhile Sallins Celtic Soccer Club is appealing for people to be 'vigilant' after a campfire was set up on the pitch earlier this week.
A spokesperson said: "This is not acceptable. The pitches and training area are there for everyone in the village to learn and develop their footballing skills. We implore on everyone to be vigilant and report anyone seen lighting fires etc to the Gardai. This will result in matches being cancelled and no football for underage kids in the village."
