A robbery took place in Casey's Londis on the Moorefield Road in Newbridge on Tuesday evening.
A lone male dressed in a purple hoodie and grey tracksuit pants was carrying a large knife
with a 9-inch blade.
Gardai say he prised the till open and fled the scene with a sum of cash.
He left the scene on foot towards the nearby Páirc Mhuire estate.
Newbridge Gardai are investigating and appealing for witnesses or any information on the incident.
