Co Kildare motorists are being warned by Gardaí about rising levels of car parts being stolen from parked cars.
A catalytic converter is an exhaust emission control device that converts toxic gases and pollutants in exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine into less-toxic pollutants by catalyzing.
The latest incident of a catalytic converter being stolen was at the Newbridge Road, Naas, on Tuesday, January 8, last.
Between 8am and 4.30pm, a lady returned to her 2004 Honda Civic, only to discover that it was not working properly.
After bringing it to a garage, she was informed that the catalytic converter had been removed.
According to Sgt Gerry Goode of Naas Garda Station, there is currently a spate of catalytic converters being stolen from cars.
