Athy Town FC is kicking off its season with a major sponsorship deal.

The club, which is approaching its 70th birthday, won last year's Division Two of the Kildare District Football League.

The team have built in strength over the winter with a 25-man strong squad and have had a tough Pre-season with several training sessions and friendly games.

The new home and away jerseys for the 2016 season were unveiled in Clancy's Bar this week.

And a new sponsorship deal was also unveiled.

Colin Gray, who is CEO of international animal pharmaceutical firm Pharmgate and an ex Athy town player, has now become an official partner of Athy Town FC by sponsoring the KDFL Premier division team. Colin, who now lives in the US, was represented at the announcement by his brother Morgan who both share a love for the club and showed great respect for the players and management.

Athy Town's first game of the season is against Bridgewood Celtic in Aldridge Park in Athy on Saturday night.
The kick off is at 7.30pm and all support is welcome to cheer on and watch this committed team.
