Bin collectors are to be reminded of collection regulations following a motion from Cllr Bernard Caldwell at a recent meeting of the Celbridge-Leixlip Municipal District.
Cllr Caldwell asked the council if they could issue a reminder to waste companies that the starting time for collecting in built up areas in the district is 6am.
Cllr Caldwell didn’t highlight any particular breaches, but a response from the Environment and Water Services Department stated that any possible breaches will be followed up.
“Under the Waste Management (Collection Permit) (Amendment) Regulations 2016, household kerbside waste shall only be collected between the hours of 6am and 10pm in areas where a 60 kilometre per hour or lower speed limit applies. The Environment Section will follow up on any possible breaches of the requirements,” stated the council in their response.
