It's a famous racecourse that hosts the Derby and it has 5,000 acres of plains where we walk the dog.
But The Curragh is also a chain of four pubs in Chicago and the Mid-West of the US where there is a large Irish community.
The premises are located in Chicago, Glenview and Skokie in Illinois as well as Holland in neighbouring Michigan.
The bars continue the racing theme with areas such as Jockey room and Member’s Lounge and are decorated with racing artefacts such as saddles and bridles.
Naturally, they sell Guinness along with 25 tap beers and seasonal selections.
They also have a policy of making their own fresh juice mixes rather than pre-bottled juice.
The most popular dishes are Irish Stew, Fish & Chips, and Shepherd’s Pie.
Just like in Ireland, the bars have nightly entertainment like karaoke with live music including traditional music on the weekends.
