A man has been arrested by Gardai following today's gangland murder of Gareth Hutch, the father of a seven - year-old boy.
The 29-year-old man was arrested in Dublin and is currently being detained at Mountjoy Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.
Gareth Hutch was gunned down in broad daylight on Cumberland Street North.
A spokesman for the gardai said: "Gardaí in Mountjoy investigating the murder of Gareth Hutch today the 24th May 2016, have this evening arrested a 29 year old male in connection with the shooting.
"He is being detained under the provisions of section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 as amended at Mountjoy Garda station."
The man can be held for seven days.
