The centre of Athy town is to get free WiFi from the end of July, it has emerged.
Cllr Thomas Redmond of Sinn Fein has been lobbying local authority officials for the service for residents and visitors.
Town Manager Joe Boland has confirmed that free Wifi will be available in the town square and surrounding streets within eight weeks.
