The National Lottery has confirmed that the holder of Wednesday night’s massive €5,781,232 Lotto Jackpot ticket has come forward.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold at the Spar Express store on Rathfarnham Road, Dublin 14.
This was 10th Lotto jackpot win this year with jackpot prizes totalling almost €55 million.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: "We can confirm that just this morning we have been contacted by the ticket holder and arrangements are being made for the claim to be made in the coming weeks."
The delighted Spar Express shop owner, Ken O’Connor, said. “This is amazing, we are hoping it is somebody local but we are a busy shop with a lot of passing traffic so we don’t know.”
The winning numbers for the Lotto draw were: 1, 15, 22, 27, 31, 34 and bonus number was 42.
This is the first Lotto jackpot since the Lotto Plus game enhancements were introduced on 1st September.
Since the introduction of the new Lotto Plus game enhancements last month, an incredible 848,000 Lotto players throughout the country have won prizes. Wednesday night’s Lotto draws alone produced over 72,000 winners.
