Local Kildare Fianna Fail TD Frank O'Rourke has welcomed the announcement by Dublin Bus that it has approved additional capacity on their 67 morning bus which services Celbridge to Maynooth.
"I am delighted to inform you that as a result of my representations to Dublin Bus they have approved additional capacity on their 7.23am and 7.53am 67 Bus which services Celbridge to Maynooth. I was contacted by a number of students and their parents as these morning services were full and as a result leaving a large numbers of people behind at the bus stops in the morning which in turn left people late for college and work," said Deputy O'Rourke.
Deputy O'Rourke said that Dublin Bus visited Celbridge on Tuesday morning to see the problem for themselves.
He said:"The have now confirmed to me that from this morning both of these services will have larger bus capacity which carries 125 passengers each as opposed to the current service carrying 90 passengers. This is extremely good news."
Deputy O'Rourke said that he will continue to work to improve transport for Celbridge and North Kildare.
