A state of the art Primary Care Centre in Athy has been granted planning permission with construction due to start within weeks.
This morning Kildare South Fine Gael TD Martin Heydon has welcomed confirmation from Kildare County Council that planning permission has been granted for the new Athy Primary Care centre. The primary care centre is to be constructed at the site of the former shirt factory on the Dublin Road.
Deputy Heydon said: “I am delighted that planning permission has been granted today for the long awaited state of the art premises for Athy. The new primary care centre will lead to a full range of GP services, HSE & Tusla facilities, meeting rooms, consulting rooms, with all primary care and community services for the people of Athy and its surroundings."
He said:“The decision today means we can look forward to construction commencing in the coming weeks as funding is in place and the project is shovel ready."
Deputy Heydon said: “I believe that this new primary care centre would be an ideal location for K Doc services which I have always thought should have a presence in the South of the County. This is an issue that I will be pursuing with the developers, the HSE and KDoc."
