BirdWatch Ireland is currently accepting applications for the position of Project Manager for the new Curlew European Innovation Partnership (EIP), aimed at the conservation of this severely threatened breeding species.

BirdWatch Ireland is the lead partner in this EIP, which is a collaboration with the Irish Natura and Hill Farmers Association, the Irish Grey Partridge Trust and Teagasc.

The project will operate in two focus areas: southern Lough Corrib in Co. Galway and the bogs important for Curlews in southern Co.Leitrim.

New, innovative programs will be initiated in these areas to improve nesting outcomes through various measures, including training farmers in nest protection, agri-environment measures and capital works programmes.

The Project Manager will oversee the work of the project which has already commenced in the South Lough Corrib area and establish the project in the South Leitrim area for operation in 2019.

The deadline for applications is 17:00 on Monday 8th October.
