Kildare commuters were left fuming this morning after Irish Rail cancelled the crucial 6.35am Kildare to Heuston service at the last minute.
The rail operator only announced the cancellation shortly before 6.30am this morning, leaving customers stranded at various stations on the route as a result. Irish Rail claim that the service was cancelled due to operational reasons.

Furious customers have lashed out at the company as this is the second time this week that there has been disruptions on the Kildare line which serves Dublin. The knock-on effect of this morning's cancellation means that the following services were busier due to the demand, with some customers claiming that there is no space left on the carriages following a couple of stops.
The same thing happened Tuesday, "cancelled for operational reasons." That covers a myriad of reasons, did the driver not report for work? Is there an issue on the line? There were significant delays on Monday morning with later trains as well. Can you be more specific?

Just wanted to let you know IRISH RAIL the train is full to capacity I couldn’t get on the train because there’s that many people on it we’d all be crushed and nothing to hold onto. Late for work and now forced to get a taxi to work. Out of pocket on my leapcard& now Taxi

Can’t understand why the operational reason was only announced 3 minutes before it was due to show up at the station??
